Joyous Charity Successfully Completes Its 2026 Holiday Orphanage Capacity-Building Programme

Our Causes

Empowering the Next Generation Through Skills Development

With profound gratitude to God and heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to its success, Joyous Charity is delighted to announce the successful completion of the Joyous Charity Holiday Orphanage Capacity-Building Programme 2026.

Organised under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation Through Skills Development,” the programme provided vulnerable children with practical training in valuable life and income-generating skills. It was designed to go beyond meeting immediate needs by equipping the children with knowledge, confidence and abilities that can continue benefiting them for years to come.

The programme was made possible through the commitment and generosity of volunteers, sponsors, donors, partners and well-wishers who contributed financially, materially and spiritually. Others supported the initiative by giving their time, sharing their knowledge, offering encouragement and praying for its success.

Every contribution played an important role in transforming this vision into a meaningful and memorable experience for the children.

Practical Skills for a Brighter Future

Throughout the programme, the children participated in engaging, hands-on training sessions led by volunteers and skilled facilitators. They were introduced to practical skills that can support personal development, creativity, self-reliance and future income-generating opportunities.

The areas of training included:

  • Professional barbering
  • Bead-making, including necklaces, bracelets and hand beads
  • Puff-puff preparation
  • Cake and gateaux making
  • Fish-roll preparation
  • Fish-pie preparation
  • Event decoration

The training sessions gave the children opportunities to learn by watching, participating and practising. Rather than receiving only theoretical instructions, they worked directly with the materials, ingredients, equipment and tools required for the various activities.

By the end of the programme, the children confidently demonstrated many of the skills they had acquired. They created attractive beads and bracelets, practised barbering techniques, prepared pastries and creatively decorated different areas of the orphanage.

Their enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and willingness to participate made every stage of the programme worthwhile. The visible improvement in their confidence and practical abilities was an inspiring reminder of what children can accomplish when they receive the right guidance, resources and encouragement.

More Than Skills Training

Although skills development was at the heart of the programme, Joyous Charity also created a warm, supportive and joyful environment in which every child felt valued.

The children received free haircuts and refreshments and shared a delicious community meal of Ekwang with volunteers and other participants. Educational and relief materials were also presented as part of the outreach.

These moments of fellowship helped make the programme more than a series of training sessions. It became an experience filled with learning, laughter, encouragement and genuine human connection.

The smiles captured in the photographs, the excitement displayed during the activities and the children’s eagerness to demonstrate what they had learned reflect the programme’s impact. Each child was encouraged to recognise that their circumstances do not have to determine the limits of their future.

Planting Seeds of Confidence and Self-Reliance

Capacity building is one of the most sustainable ways to support vulnerable children. While material assistance can address an immediate need, practical knowledge can remain with a child for life.

Through this programme, seeds of hope, dignity, creativity, confidence and self-reliance have been planted in the lives of the participating children. Skills such as barbering, baking, bead-making and event decoration can be developed into meaningful vocations and small businesses in the future.

The programme also encouraged the children to discover their abilities, work with others and understand the value of learning a useful skill. These lessons can strengthen their ability to make responsible decisions, pursue productive opportunities and contribute positively to their communities as they grow.

Joyous Charity believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream and build a better future. Vulnerable children should not be defined only by their needs; they should also be recognised for their potential, talents and capacity to create meaningful change.

Our Heartfelt Appreciation

Joyous Charity extends its deepest gratitude to every volunteer, trainer, sponsor, donor, partner and supporter who helped make the 2026 Holiday Orphanage Capacity-Building Programme successful.

The organisation is grateful to those who provided financial assistance, donated materials, facilitated training sessions, prepared meals, offered professional services, encouraged the children and supported the programme through prayer.

Because of this collective generosity, the children did not simply attend an event. They gained practical knowledge, enjoyed meaningful experiences and received encouragement that can influence how they see themselves and their futures.

This achievement belongs to everyone who believed in the vision and chose to play a part in bringing it to life.

This Is Only the Beginning

The successful completion of the programme does not mark the end of Joyous Charity’s commitment to vulnerable children and orphanages. It represents another important step in the organisation’s continuing mission to empower lives, restore hope and build brighter futures.

Joyous Charity remains committed to developing sustainable humanitarian and capacity-building initiatives that address immediate needs while creating long-term opportunities for personal and economic growth.

The organisation warmly welcomes individuals, businesses, churches, institutions, charitable organisations and community groups that would like to partner, sponsor, volunteer or donate towards future programmes.

With more partners and supporters, Joyous Charity can reach additional orphanages, train more vulnerable children and provide the tools and resources required to transform acquired knowledge into lasting opportunities.

Every contribution matters. Every act of kindness can leave a lasting impact.
